Jessica Gibson is a recovering bookaholic, she's down from four books a week to a more reasonable one. It was that love of words and creativity that made her dream about writing her first book. That dream was hidden for years, always put on the back burner, filed away in the "someday" section, until her husband Matt gave her the kick in the pants she needed to actually get off her butt and write.
Jessica and Matt live in Southern California and have a serious addiction to reality tv shows like Pawn Stars and American Restoration. They have one son and hope to add to the family in the near future.
Aside from writing, she runs an online event planning business called the Release Day Diva. In addition to novels, Jessica writes and maintains the blog Book on the Bright Side. Keep up with Jessica and her latest releases and events on her blog.

Jessica has been kind enough to answer my silly questions below:

I. Where do you get book ideas? Usually the idea will spin off of something small and sort of snowball from there. My Witch series came from the image of a witch in front of a cauldron stirring a potion.

2. Who designed the cover of your book? The amazing Russ Turner of Russ Turner Photography designed the covers for my Boston Witch books. He captured the vision so completely.

3. What is your favorite hobby besides writing? Probably reading. That’s actually what made me write, my love of all things books.

4.What is your # 1 pet peeve? Rudeness. I cannot stand people who are rude, there is no need for it. A smile is better than a frown any day.

5. What are your two favorite movies? Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang, that movie is hilarious, and any of the Harry Potter movies...so magical.

6.Where is one place in the world you would really love to visit and why? Europe, just for all the history. I’m a huge history fan.

7. What is your favorite restaurant? Anything Mexican or Italian, don’t really have a favorite.

8.What is your favorite song right now? Right at this moment it’s Shelter by The Strange Familiar....such a beautiful song.

9.If your book was made into a movie who would play the lead roles? Christina Hendricks would be my Jilly for sure, Olivia Wilde would be Caroline, Henry Cavil would be William, and Matt Bomer would be Patrick.

10. What is one tip you would give to new authors? The one thing I would say is to just keep writing. you’ll never finish if you stop! Make it pretty after you get all the words out. Oh, and save for a good editor and for a good cover artist. Covers sell your books, and editing will make or break you.

About Chasing The Witch:

The sisters are thrown together to protect a young girl from the enemy determined to hunt her down. Can they save her -- and themselves?

I am hearing wonderful things about this book. Here is what some are saying:

Jessica has done it again! She's kept me on my toes with the latest installment of The Boston Witches.

Caroline has been dreaming of a mystery man who has stolen her heart. Oh, did I mention that she is also being hunted by Sabine? Jilly discovers a new ability that hasn't been heard of in years and its freaking awesome! Patrick is well... Patrick. He has some pretty big secrets that will blow your socks off!

I received an ARC copy of Jessica's book in exchange for an honest review of her book. And honestly, this book was great! First of all I have to say, if you haven't read her first book, Mark of the Witch, please read that one FIRST!! It too is AWESOME!! And I love that this book picks up right there and keeps on going right where Jessica left off!

I have to say, if you love suspense and a book that goes where you think it won't then this is a the book for you!! There is still the hot and heavy ro...more

This book held my interest well, and I kept reading because I was eager to discover what would happen next. I loved the story; the sense of place was conveyed superbly. I felt as if I were there with the group, living the moments along with them. I had no problem really picking up the story and understanding the circumstances and events as they unfolded even though I, unfortunately, have not read the first book in this series. While I empathized with the plight of the main characters in this adv...more

If you have not read the first book then you will want to start with  book one 'Mark of the Witches'

About Mark of the Witch:

Magic flows through Jillian Proctor's veins as surely as blood, but so far her life outside Boston has been peaceful. William Morgan blows into Jilly's life like a hurricane, unleashing her magic and sending her out of control. Unknowingly, William brings an enemy who only wants to posses the power of the witch. Jilly must learn to harness her magic before she loses it - and everything in her life is destroyed.
